Depending on your preference and usage, you can choose which cap to use. The stainless steel cap has a bottom made of stainless steel and a top made of cork. The advantage of this design is that the liquid never comes into contact with plastic. However, the downside is that you need to unscrew the entire cap to drink. Additionally, the complete removal of the cap may slightly affect the bottle's insulation capabilities as it allows more air exchange.
The sports cap is connected to an inner drinking straw, eliminating the need to tilt the bottle when drinking and never having to open the cap. This has been my son's preferred drinking method, and I must say, I'm completely satisfied with it. The sports cap is completely leak-proof, and the entire bottle can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
