OMRON body analyzer BF511 review - My experience

The Omron body composition monitor has been on the market for a while and you can see that. The design is not necessarily the most modern. The feel is also not necessarily the very best. The plastic makes a rather cheap impression, but the workmanship seems to be very good. Both points are more than acceptable at a price of under 100€. 

The scale is available in two colors: turquoise / light green and dark blue. I opted for the turquoise variant, as this was a few euros cheaper to have. Since I am concerned with the measurement of body values and not on the design factor, the color is rather incidental here.

The display is reasonably clear but quite small. The upper part of the display shows the current readings or instructions, while the lower part shows the last readings.

The measurement itself must be performed exactly according to the instructions. There are no notes or instructions on the display about which steps to perform. I see a clear need for improvement here. If you perform the measurement more often, but it is soon learned. The measured values seem to be ok, but kpnnte them so far not compared with a professional measurement. Some comments on Amazon unfortunately report a very inaccurate measurement, especially for very trained people.

Since the transfer of values to an app or similar is not possible, the observation of the measured values over time is somewhat cumbersome. You would have to write them down yourself. However, for those who are very concerned about data protection, the scale is a good alternative to modern smart body scales.

My preliminary test rating is an average GOOD.
